About
Hi, my name is Viktor Elias, and I’m an entrepreneur and a journalist.
In 2013, when I was 13 years old, I founded Hits 93 Toronto, an internet radio station with close to 200,000 followers on Twitter alone. I started the station with a sole purpose: To promote Canadian music to an international audience and to help Canadian talent reach new heights.
I’ve proven that I’m excellent in my ability to create effective playlists (I create a different one for nearly every hour of the day, for effective use of mood and aesthetic) and I frequently discover new acts, such as Dua Lipa and Kali Uchis, years before they become mainstream acts with massive audiences. I’ve also been fortunate to have been quoted and tweeted by some of the most famous musicians in the world, including Lady Gaga and Louis Tomlinson, over the past few years.

In 2018, when I was 18 years old, I founded The Times of Toronto, a data journalism outlet focussing on data visualizations and long form content, that I hope to re-launch in the near future.
I’m currently a fourth-year journalism student at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Toronto and I’m seeking to leverage my skills into the data journalism I hope to publish in my own publication and, hopefully, yours too. While I’m at TMU for my undergrad, I’m also studying at Georgia Tech, via edX, in their MicroMasters in Analytics: Essential Tools and Methods program, which will eventually lead me to study data analytics, via a graduate degree, once I graduate from TMU in April 2023.
I’m also heavily involved in the political-sphere of Toronto, having co-founded the Toronto Foundation for Youth Involvement in Politics (TFYIP) with Javon Samuel in early 2021. Our main goal is to get young people engaged in public service, whether that be by running for office or mentoring future leaders in the community and funding their many brilliant projects through our generous corporate donors, in the coming years.
I’m always willing and able to contribute my time to worthy causes that make a difference. Feel free to reach out to me and, hopefully, we can help each other out and learn something new along the way.
